The Scottish Provident Building is located right in the heart of Belfast City centre, providing quality spaces for over 100 of the most exciting businesses in the country.

What we did
RES were tasked by our client, Lambert Smith Hampton, with replacing a failing wireless fire alarm system in Scottish Provident Building. The building is one of the most beautiful and recognisable properties in Belfast, being located adjacent to the city hall. The façade and interior decoration are of historic significance and unique to Belfast City.
RES designed a hard wired multi-panel networked system and carefully selected cable routes to ensure our cables could not be seen and that the delicate plaster work was not disturbed. The panels were located strategically throughout the building and open protocol devices were installed to protect the building. In addition, we had to use Hybrid wireless devices to cover inaccessible areas and provide two suppression systems to protect critical IT infrastructure. The entire process from design, installation, commissioning and maintenance for the entire project were carried out in house by RES.
RES are privileged to be responsible for the fire alarm systems that protect one of the most historic buildings in Belfast.
